Goop Goop 4667. It is a flexible adhesive with considerable more adhesion than silicone and a very high shear and peal strength. It is attacked by many solvents such as gasoline, Toluene, Perchloroethylene and the like. However, it is quite resistant to water, acids and bases including wine, salt, fertilizers, milk and hydraulic oils to name a few.

E-6000 is the most common Goop. Almost any dry substrate may be bonded to any other. Some examples are glass to metal to plastic to wood to tile to fiberglass to concrete to rubber to fabric to brick to leather and on and on. It’s uses are really quite amazing.

This~multi-purpose, one component, self leveling adhesive and sealant is so versatile that it practically eliminates the need for any other glue, epoxy silicone, rubber cement or patch kit. First and foremost, E-6000 is possibly the strongest toughest adhesive and sealant available for industrial applications. Though E-6000 has a very high tensile strength, it also remains extremely flexible, even when used underwater. This elasticity makes E-6000 ideal when used as an adhesive of sealant between surfaces with dissimilar expansion coefficients

While strength is important, versatility is E-6000’s most unique feature. Quite possibly, it is the only adhesive and sealant known to man that will bond to all these different porous and non-porous substrates: metal, wood, plastic, tile, glass, fiberglass, concrete, brick, rubber, canvas, leather, vinyl and fabric. Furthermore, E-6000 can be applied to both oil and water based paints, or it can be painted over by both of these. And finally, E-6000 is extremely non-corrosive, and except tor a few high-powered solvents, may be used in contact with most chemical solutions.

Because E-000 has so many different uses, it is also made it in four convenient colors: clear, black, white and gray. And, if that isn’t enough variety for you, it is also supplied it in 6 convenient sizes: 3.7 fl. oz. tubes, 10.2 fl. oz. cartridges, 1 qt. cans, 1 gal. cans, 5gal, pails or 55 gal. drums.

Contact Adhesives Contact adhesives are used to bond headliners, plastics laminates (such as Formica), carpet and wall panels, to name a few.

Plastic laminate bonding uses a solvent based and more recently a water-based contact adhesive. The plan is to apply the adhesive and let them skin over then bring the parts into contact and pressure roll them. Headline adhesives are also known as Landau roof adhesives and are available from automotive upholstery supply companies. Such characteristics as peel, shear and tensile

strengths are of secondary importance with these form of adhesive. One word of caution is when laminating plastic laminated, do not use lacquer thinner as a solvent since lacquer thinner contains a small degree of oil and will cause a failure in the bond.

Power Glue

(also known as Crazy Glue) and more properly called cyanoalcrylates

Cyanoacrylates (CA’s) have become the adhesive of choice for most hobby and household applications. High quality CA’s such as INSTA-CURE, when used properly, form bonds that in many cases are stronger than the material that is being adhered.
